Emil Kraugerud is a music researcher, musician and audio engineer. He is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oslo, where he researches music production software within the PLATFORM research project. His doctoral dissertation explores the notion of intimacy in recorded popular music sound from musicological, sociological and psychoacoustic perspectives. He has taught bachelor’s and master’s classes in popular music, music production, music technology and music history, and given guest lectures at universities in Norway and Canada.
Kraugerud is also a performing musician, playing multiple instruments with several bands and artists, including Dingus, Podcasts and Tusen Takk. As a recording and mixing engineer, he has worked on projects across many different genres. He has also worked with live audio for music and theatre.
